"Cobbler's children have no shoes." My mom used that familiar saying when referring to a professional who didn't utilize his/her own services or product.A professional who can fall into this category is insurance agents who do not have an inventory of their belongings. Most agents encourage their policyholders to create this document - photos and written record - in case of disaster. They know how difficult it is for their clients to recover without one. They know it's difficult to remember and prove what you own(ed). So why not have one? Just like most others, they just didn't have - or take - the time.
Recently we've provided our service for quite a few insurance agents' homes and offices. Some have said, "How can I expect my customers to have one when I don't have one myself?" It's called leading by example!
Our insurance agent/customers are no longer like the cobbler.
And, by the way, we count shoes!
